At Grimsdell we are very aware of global warming, the constantly changing effects on our planet and the ever increasing importance of becoming 'green'. We have become involved in a number of initiatives that allow us to educate
the children as well have a direct impact on our local environment. We have recently gained the Silver Award from Eco Schools an International Award Programme and are in the process of applying for our Green Flag Award.
We have an active Eco schools club who regularly consider different ways in which we can further protect our planet. Grimsdell pupils have already raised funds through participating in a recycled materials fashion show as well as introduced composting to aid recycling.

As part of our efforts to make Grimsdell more Eco Efficient, we have been working hard on our Green Travel plan. This means we work on different strategies to make staff and parents aware of the opportunities to car share or use alternative modes of transport to get to school. We recently have achieved the Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognised (STAR) - Higher Standard level 2010.
