![]() Sports Day and Grimsdell Parents' Association Activities and DisplaysGrimsdell children enjoyed their Sports Day on Friday 27th June, which was followed by an afternoon of fun when the Grimsdell Parents' Association put on Activities for parents and children to enjoy. Parents were also able to view the stunning displays of children's work in the classrooms. Belmont Year 8 pupils came over from the Prep School to help out with the activities, which included cake decorating, a bran tub and football goal practice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A Great Day OutYear 2 had a fabulous day at Moat Mount Outdoor Centre in Mill Hill on Thursday 5th June. Luckily the weather was good. The day began with team building activities which ensured the children worked collaboratively to solve problems. After lunch there was a delightful nature walk followed by an exciting Adventure Course where the children climbed over walls, swung on ropes, crawled through gates, balanced on logs and jumped. The finale was a pillow fight. Finally happy, very muddy children went home. A great day was had by all - children and teachers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Puppet ShowThe Grimsdell Parents Association arranged a Puppet Show to entertain the children at the end of the Spring Term. Foundation Fashion ShowThe first Foundation Fashion Show was held at Mill Hill School. The event was organised to raise money for our partnership schools in India, Nicaragua and Ethiopia. Pupils and staff from all three parts of the school were amazingly professional as models and Grimsdell's Salsa Dancers entertained a very large and appreciative audience. Pupils Visit Museum of Local HistoryYear 1 visited Gunnersbury Park to learn about Florence Nightingale and life in Victorian Times. Lots of fun was had by all!
Grimsdell “Friendly, Caring and Highly Successful”The Independent Schools Inspectorate Report, just published, concludes that Grimsdell is “highly successful in meeting its aims and aspirations”, and notes that “in this warm and happy environment, the pupils grow into confident young people who are well prepared for their next stage of education”. Owls Come to SchoolGrimsdell children and staff enjoyed an entrancing hour when we were visited by the ‘Night Owls’. It was a fantastic experience for the whole school to see and learn more about these beautiful creatures. All the children watched in amazement as the owls flew around the hall, and with guidance from the trainers some children had the opportunity to hold the birds themselves. ![]() ![]()
Helping othersGrimsdell pupils fill shoeboxes with gifts for the charity Samaritan’s Purse to send out to poor and needy children in remote countries around the world. After SchoolAfter school facilities are available and run from close of school until 5.15pm. Activities are varied and include role play, construction, sand and water, ICT, outdoor play, creative and quiet play. The aim is for children to have fun in a comfortable, familiar and relaxed environment. Other After School Clubs include Dance Club, Board Games Club and Recorder Club. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
