School Council

The Grimsdell School council was introduced early in 2009 and our original council decided that the Grimsdell School Councillors would be pupils who are:

  • Responsible
  • Kind
  • Helpful
  • A good listener
  • A good example to others
  • Good at remembering
  • Follow the Grimsdell Way

Children are elected to the school council at the beginning of each term by member of their class. We currently have 12 School Councillors, a boy and a girl from each of our Year 1 and Year 2 classes and we meet once a month with Mr Dobson to discuss ideas and problems that have been forward by pupils at Grimsdell. The members of the School Council are responsible for helping to carry out these ideas and putting them into practice.

The Aims of our School Council

To work together to try and make our school a better place for the children and the staff. We:

  • Share our ideas and support each other
  • Find out what children think by asking questions
  • Work as a school community
  • Listen to each other

The School Council have recently been given an annual Budget of £100. This money is to be used by the school council to help improve aspects of Grimsdell that they feel will make a difference to the pupils.

“We aim to work together to try and make our school a better place for the children and the staff.”
